Fall Engagement Shoot in Washington, DC

I flew out to Washington, D.C. to meet up with Rachel & Zach for their fall engagement photos. In two days of running around the city, we visited the Jefferson Memorial, Meridian Hill Park, the National Mall, Kramerbooks, a deli that holds a special place in their hearts (and mine - the Reuben was AMAZING), and Crystal City. It was amazing time, and I am so thrilled to be capturing their wedding next year!

Retro Pin-Up Engagement Session in New Braunfels

Ian & Nicole found me through a referral from one of my Michigan clients - small world! Nicole suggested a retro-themed shoot in their backyard, since Ian repairs vintage hot rods. It turned out wonderfully! Taking photographs in a place that is important to the couple (in this case, Ian & Nicole's home together) really makes the engagement session special.

Ian & Nicole were game to try any and all of my ideas ("Let's climb up into the treehouse!"). This is what Nicole had to say when she saw them:

I couldn’t stop staring at the pictures! I am lacking even in the correct words to put my feelings together. So impressive, gorgeous and amazing. You truly caught every detail and we had a blast.
We’re so excited for you shooting our wedding! It is great to have you capturing these moments for us. Thank you for being so awesome!!

Jaye & Art - Outdoor Engagement Portraits in Austin

Jaye & Art had never been to the 360 overlook above Pennybacker Bridge, but it had been on their list for quite a while - making it the perfect backdrop for their engagement photos. I captured them doing some of their favorite things - hiking, exploring, and being with each other. Click to enlarge.

TBT: Leah & Johnmark - Chicago Lifestyle Engagement Photos

I travelled to Chicago to follow Leah & Johnmark around with a camera as they showed me their home and shared their story with me. These are two of the most beautiful souls I've ever met. They relationship is filled with baking bread and making music, so of course their photos were too. Click to enlarge.

Jess & Erica - Lifestyle Engagement Photo in the Capitol of Texas

Jess & Erica joined me on a sunny morning to do the first half of their engagement photos near the Capitol building in Austin. We explored Congress Street and found little bits of Texas history and giant colorful murals. We got coffee at Royal Blue and spent the morning talking about comedy, movies and Angelina Eberly.
